How it works
Timesheets want decimal hours, not hours and minutes: 8 hours 30 minutes is 8.5, and 8 hours 20 minutes is 8.33 rather than 8.20. Getting that wrong is the single most common payroll arithmetic error.
An end time earlier than the start is treated as crossing midnight, which is what a night shift needs.
